What is Dramatherapy?

Dramatherapy is a creative therapeutic approach that uses creative arts to facilitate personal growth and healing. Our qualified psychotherapists utilise storytelling, visual arts, role-play, writing, meditation, visualisation, movement, breath-work,and community to help clients explore their feelings and experiences in a supportive setting. 


Many of the people who reach us have tried just about everything and the traditional talk therapies just haven’t generated the results they are looking for.  By incorporating the body and the unconscious into the therapeutic process,  we open avenues for deeper, and more long-lasting changes to occur.   Trauma lives in the body— and the solution does too.

Our Mission

We are committed to making all the information we’ve gathered over extensive trainings and personal therapy processes as accessible and engaging to as many people as possible. Whether you are seeking personal development opportunities or aiming to enhance your organisation’s well-being initiatives, the Open Mind Space is here to guide and support you.

Our sessions are on their feet and dynamic. Our participants draw maps across the room on the floor, engage in visualisation exercises, create human statues, reach new understandings through improv exercises and are often covered in post it notes.

Dramatherapy is used to treat a number of different mental health difficulties, ranging from depression, anxiety, trauma, autism, pregnancy & postpartum related mental health troubles, dementia or ADHD to psychiatric conditions such as personality disorders or schizophrenia, to clients who are grieving or undergoing big changes like divorce, the list goes on.  We are a collective of multi-specialising therapists, meaning that we have therapists with extensive experience in each sector of mental health.  If your concern is not listed in the above and you're wondering if we can support you, feel free to reach out and at very worst we will be able to refer you to an appropriate service.


1-1 sessions have a fee of £75.  Group sessions are £35.  Fees are the same for in person and online work, and sliding scale pricing is available for economic need.


In-person sessions are currently being held in Wokingham and across several locations in London, however online sessions are available nationwide across the UK.


We recommend clients attend weekly sessions as this is typically best practice for most people's therapeutic journeys, however your therapist might offer fortnightly therapy in certain situations.
