Amoreena is a multi-award-winning therapist, university lecturer, and corporate trainer with a deep commitment to trauma-informed, creative approaches to healing. With a background that bridges clinical expertise and lived experience, she is a strong advocate for process-based recovery—meeting each individual where they are, and supporting growth through evidence-based, expressive therapies.
Her special interest in visualisation-based meditation and its impact on trauma recovery positions her at the forefront of holistic, research-informed care. Amoreena’s work blends innovation with compassion, drawing on a rich and diverse history across clinical, educational, and humanitarian settings.
Before founding Open Mind Space, she spent several years delivering therapeutic play for displaced children through The Flying Seagull Project, and facilitating group work for refugee adolescents and neurodivergent children. Her work has included leading Self Harm to Self Care courses for parents and young people, teaching in a Los Angeles charter school for youth impacted by gang violence, and designing empathy-based programs within the innovation and creativity sector.
Today, Amoreena continues to inform and lead through consultancy, training, and organisational work.
While she is not currently taking on therapy clients, she welcomes enquiries from organisations and enjoys hearing from all our clients, prospective or ongoing.
